Partner Feature: Association of NJ Environmental Commissions (ANJEC)

Since 1969, ANJEC has empowered environmental commissions, green teams, open space committees, and local municipal officials to protect the natural resources and quality of life in their community through the protection of our environment.

ANJEC educates environmental commissions and local boards throughout the year with a range of reports, resource papers, and interactive learning opportunities.  Over the past 53 years, ANJEC has become a strong advocate for environmental policies across the state working to overcome today’s most pressing environmental challenges – climate change and environmental justice.

ANJEC works to overcome climate change by leveraging a combination of education and policy advocacy.  Some of their most important work recently has addressed reducing plastic pollution, assessing Municipal Climate Hazard Vulnerability, enhancing Flood Hazard Area Protection, and advancing electric vehicle and green energy usage across New Jersey.

ANJEC provides educational resources, webinars, and workshops to environmental commissioners and local officials throughout the year.  To learn more about upcoming events and how to get involved, please visit ANJEC online and follow them on Facebook or Twitter.
