
1. Check applicable standards and complete the Preliminary Certification Request.
2. Complete the Application for Certification and return to Green Seal along with certification fee.
3. Await contact from Green Seal Project Manager, who will evaluate submitted materials.
4. Receive and on-site audit from a Green Seal Auditor, and cover associated costs. After an audit report has been returned, companies have 120 days to complete any necessary corrections to standards items.
5. If standards are met, company receives certification and can make use of benefits and work with Green Seal Marketing staff to create custom promotional tools, while ensuring periodic compliance monitoring and annual dues submission.
While most Green Seal Certification programs are designed for products and item sourcing, a few options exist for companies to gain recognition. These include Residential Cleaning Services, Restaurants & Food Services, Hotels & Lodging Properties, and Pilot Sustainability Standard for Product Manufacturers. Each standard has its own associated Evaluation fees, dependent on company size, according to annual revenues. The Evaluation fee is due at the time of application and is only required to be paid once.
Annual Compliance Monitoring fees are due each year to maintain certification and yearly license for use of the Green Seal Mark.
