Workplace Contribution Program:Offering employees the benefit of payroll contributions to their favorite environmental charities is a wonderful way to increase employee satisfaction while contributing the enhancement of our natural surroundings and quality of life. Workplace Contribution Programs are easy to implement, and ESNJ can help you enhance an existing program or initiate one from the ground up.

Brown-Bag Lunch Groups:This program is customizable for any workplace. We have educational programs such as Green Cleaning and Pesticide Free Home Maintenance, and other programs can be developed to address specific concerns of your employees or their community. This may include the hazards of stormwater runoff or the importance of watershed maintenance. Our goal is to provide your employees with the information they need to lead healthier and safer lives.

Product Recycling Programs:Stop filling landfills with inkjet or toner cartridges. Stop leaving your retired cell phone in the drawer, or worse yet, adding it to the landfill. Turn-key recycling programs enable your business and employees to recycle their used cartridges, phones, pda's, pagers, and other electronic devices and have a donation made to ESNJ for their effort. The programs cost you nothing and include postage paid collection containers or mailersm, as well as the necessary materials to promote the program with employees or customers. The only work for you is to find a good spot to place the materials and let ESNJ know when you need more.

Environmental Awareness Fair:With one call, we can help to arrange an environmental awareness fair for your employees. Targeted for employers of 500 or more employees, this program brings our members to you. We have partners that will share information about environmental issues/successes in the state, outdoor adventures/programs that employees could consider using, and products currently in the market place that will help us all have a healthier tomorrow. While this can be run at no cost to most employers, it would help to defray costs if the company would consider holding a "Jeans Day" (see below) or some other type of fundraiser for the benefit of EarthShare New Jersey on the day of the event.

Volunteer Programs:EarthShare NJ members have a variety of projects that can be offered to your employees. Available at various locations across the state, these programs may involve creating a new trail, cleaning a riverbed or local beach, building or performing maintenance in an outdoor learning center or planting a garden. While some corporate partners sponsor the projects, others provide the volunteers to get the job done. These opportunities are available year round, but the best programs are planned well in advance.
EarthShare New Jersey can host programs that enable employers/employees to do their share for the environment. There are also some ways for employers to help support EarthShare New Jersey. Implementing any of these programs helps ESNJ continue to be a resource of unrestricted operating funds for hundreds of organizations that are working hard every day for a better tomorrow.

Doing Your Share Day:Set a date and announce that a designated % of sales from that day will be donated to EarthShare New Jersey. This will be promoted through ESNJ as well as our member groups and a press release will be sent to the local papers. You might even want to include an announcement about the event in your weekly advertisements. Together, we can create a reminder to be placed with customer purchases in the weeks leading up to the event encouraging them to come back. On the day of the event, ESNJ will be onsite to provide customers with information about our programs and free give-aways. We may even include a customer raffle to encourage participation. Once the day is over, ESNJ and your business can issue a joint press release highlighting the event and results.

Car Donations:Ever wondered what to do with an old car? What about donating it to ESNJ. Our vendor will come anywhere in New Jersey or the five boroughs of NY, pick up the vehicle, provide a receipt for your donation, and give the proceeds of the sale to ESNJ. What could be easier? Does your business regularly update their fleet of vehicles? Consider donating them to ESNJ instead of trading them in. You'll not only get a great tax write off and publicity opportunity, but you are helping a wonderful cause. Other companies do this yielding approximately $40,000 in donations annually.

Search Engine Selection:ESNJ can receive $.01 every time you use Good Search as your search engine. www.GoodSearch.org, powered by Yahoo® Search, donates 50% of their advertising revenue to charity. All you need to do is go to GoodSearch.org and select "EarthShare New Jersey" as the recipient of your search donation. You can even track how much ESNJ is receiving each month.

Jeans/Dress Down Day:Charge up the normal routine. Enable your employees to dress down or wear jeans for a minimum donation of $5. Give the proceeds to ESNJ. While this can be a great promotional opportunity, it enables your employees to participate actively for a small donation. Participants receive a small token of appreciation from ESNJ as well on the day of the event. If you would like, we can plan a host of activities to occur simultaneously, resulting in a fun environmental awareness event!

In Kind Donation:You name it, and we can use it! Office materials/supplies, equipment, services, advertising and so on. We strive to utilize as much of our donors' gifts as possible to keep the environmental organizations in New Jersey and across the country up and running. Their programs and services are what will make tomorrow healthier and safer for everyone. As a result, we pretty much run on a shoestring. Our administrative cost for 2005 was only 6.5%!
